Pakistan is in the grip of severe cold as temperature has dropped up to 6 degree Celsius at a number of places in the country. The temperature fell below zero including Kalat, -09°C, Dalbandin, Quetta & Parachinar, -07°C, Gupis, Drosh Skardu & Murree, -04°C, Zhob, Hunza, Astore & Chitral, -03°C, Malamjabba & Gilgit, -02°C. Snowfall at Malamjabba 2ft, Murree 1.5ft and Chirat 0.5ft.

Meteorological department said on Friday that scattered rain with snowfall over the hills occurred in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sargodha divisions & Kashmir/Gilgit-Baltistan. It said, on Saturday (today) thunderstorm/rain with snowfall over the hills is likely to occur at scattered places of upper Khyber Pakhtunhkwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and Rawalpindi division.

Also isolated thunderstorm/ rain with snowfall over the hills may occur over Kohat, Sargodha, Gujranwala and Lahore divisions while mainly cold & dry weather is expected over rest of the country with foggy/misty conditions over plain areas of southern Punjab & Sindh, gusty winds & frost over north-east Balochistan, it added.
